Enterprise makes major purchase in Mobile

Enterprise Car Rental and Sales paid $1.65 million for 5 acres at 850 I-65 Service Road West near Airport Boulevard in Mobile, and plan to build a car and truck rental sales facility there, according to Tim Herrington of Herrington Realty, who handled the transaction.

Windmill Market at 85 N. Bancroft St., in downtown Fairhope has been purchased for $940,000 by the owners of local dental practice, according to Jeremy Friedman of Katapult Properties, who represented the sellers. The sellers were Gina and Mac Walcott of Walcott Adams Verneuille Architects. The buyers were Wells and Elizabeth Hammock, who run Bay Pediatric Dentistry. The Hammocks plan to renovate the indoor outdoor market. Ox Kitchenand Mary Ann’s Deli & Catering will remain open during the renovations which should be complete in early fall. Jamie Lyon Cooper of Exit Realty Lyon worked for the the buyers. The Walcotts purchased the former Klumpp Motors Chevrolet dealership property in 2008 and opened the market in 2009.

Local investors paid $530,000 for a 4,400-square-foot office building at 6170 Omni Park Drive in west Mobile, according to Joe Steen of Joe Steen Real Estate, who handled the transaction.

Investors paid $535,000 for 7 acres at 25299 Canal Road in Orange Beach and will use for future development, according to David Milstead of Bellator Commercial Real Estate.

Check out the new Picnic Beach restaurant, with indoor and outdoor picnic table seating at 128 E. 1st Ave., in Gulf Shores.The menu includes fresh ingredients from smoothies, acai bowls, and organic cocktails to smoked meats and BBQ smoked onsite.

Rouses Market is scheduled to open in May in the former Winn-Dixiestore space on Perdido Beach Boulevard in Orange Beach. The grocery store chain will wait until after the summer season to remodel the store.

Watch for more subdivisions headed to Foley: Parkside on 61 acres at Cater Lee Way and Hickory Street; Lakeview Gardens with 94 lots on 50 acres just south of Baldwin County 20; and Cate Hudson subdivision on 20 acres at the northwest corner of S. McKenzie Street and just north of 9th Avenue.
